They seem to know so much because of all the time and experience they have. We learn through mistakes and they have had plenty of opportunities to learn from their own mistakes and use it for future references which they do. Experience is through practical contact with and observation of facts or events. They have seen more than others with no experience so most of the time they know exactly how to deal with a situation and know what to do since they've experienced it before or seen how it was handled.
