Large stainless steel 304 plate initially at 200 C is cooled by air jet at Tair=20 C (both sides). Air velocity is V=50 m/s. The plate dimensions are 1.5 m x 1.0 m x 0.1 m (the plate thickness is 2L1=0.1 m. a) Determine the average heat transfer coefficient, hL b) h(x) at the end of the plate, x=L. c) Calculate temperature at the center of the plate (under the jet) after 3 minutes (180 s) . d) Determine the temperature at the surface of the plate (under the jet) 3 seconds of cooling. Can you assume the heat transfer coefficient is infinite ?
