Consists of two gears A and B that are rotating about their mass centers. For gear A, mA = 3.8 kg and rA = 0.17 m. For gear B, mB = 9 kg and rB = 0.46 m. The radius of gyration for gear A is kA = 0.11 m and for gear B it is kB = 0.32 m. A clockwise couple Mo of magnitude 0.77 Mm acts on Gear A to start the system. The gears do not slip. (a) Draw the FBD and MAD for each gear and show all forces and resulting motions, (b) Determine the angular acceleration of each gear and the tangential contact force between the gears at C. Neglect friction.
