Create your poster. a) On the poster board, draw a roller coaster track that starts with one large hill, followed by a valley, and then another, smaller hill.
b) Draw a cart in four different positions on the track, as outlined below.
i. First, draw the cart at the top of the first hill. Label it A.
ii. Second, draw the cart going down the first hill, into the valley. Label it B. iii. Third, draw the cart at the bottom of the valley. Label it C.
iv. Last, draw the cart at the top of the second, smaller hill. Label it D.
c) Draw an energy pie chart above each of the cart’s four positions.
i. Choose your reference point for determining height.
ii. Create a pie chart that accurately represents the ratio of the three forms of energy and label the sections of the pie Eg for gravitational potential energy, Ek for kinetic energy, and Eth for thermal energy. iii. Make sure your name is on the poster.

The x-coordinate of a particle in curvilinear motion is given by x = 3.1t3 - 4.9t where x is in feet and t is in seconds. the y-component of acceleration in feet per second squared is given by ay = 2.3t. if the particle has y-components y = 0 and vy = 5.0 ft/sec when t = 0, find the magnitudes of the velocity v and acceleration a when t = 1.8 sec. sketch the path for the first 1.8 seconds of motion, and show the velocity and acceleration vectors for t = 1.8 sec. answers: v = ft/sec a = ft/sec2

On a frictionless air track, a blue glider with mass 0.200 kg is moving to the right with a speed of 8.00 m/s. it strikes a red glider that has mass 0.600 kg and that is initially at rest. after the collision, the blue glider is moving to the left with a speed of 3.00 m/s.(a) what are the magnitude and direction of the velocity of the red glider after the collision? (b) is this collision elastic?
