Explain the difference between dominant and recessive genes, and provide an example of each one.

Dominant genes is when an allele is dominant, the characteristic it is connected to will be expressed in individual.

When an allele is recessive the characteristics it is connected to is less likely to be expressed. Recessive traits only manifest when both alleles are recessive in an individual.

Example:
On dominant, Brown eyes trait, A and B bloods type

Recessive, blue eyes trait, O blood type.

Father Brown blue
Mother Brown blue

1 kid = BB
2kid = Bb
3 kid = Bb
4 kid = bb

The dominant allele B will take over recessive allele b.

So if both of your parents have dominant Brown eyes and recessive blue eyes it’s 75% likely that one of four siblings will have brown eyes and 25% will have blue.
