Lab: Mechanical Equivalent of Heat Do the data for the second part of the experiment support or refute the second hypothesis? Be sure to explain your answer and include how the variables changed in the second part of the experiment.

Sample Response: The data for the second part of the experiment support the second hypothesis. As the mass of the cylinder increased, the temperature of the water increased. With a greater mass, the cylinder has more gravitational potential energy. This gravitational potential energy was completely converted to thermal energy, which increased the temperature of the water.

I will give Brainliest to anyone who can give another answer that is correct but isn't the same.
