Due to her inertia and weight, the child's tendency would be to slide down the wall. What force acts upward to keep her from sliding down the wall?

Assume that she has a tangential speed of 10 m/s and the ride has a radius of 3 meters. What is the magnitude of the normal force acting on her?

E. Assuming she does not slide, the vertical (upward and downward) forces in the diagram must be equal. What minimum coefficient of friction is required between the wall and the child to keep her from sliding?
