A box of mass mis held on top of an inclined plane of height h. Friction between the inclined plane and the box is negligible.

The box slides down the plane until it reaches ground level with a speed of vms. It continues sliding
along the ground, which has a coefficient of friction of y, until it comes to a complete stop after a distance of s metres.

What is the correct expression for the coefficient of friction?

Moon effect. some people believe that the moon controls their activities. if the moon moves from being directly on the opposite side of earth from you to being directly overhead, by what percentage does (a) the moon's gravitational pull on you increase and (b) your weight (as measured on a scale) decrease? assume that the earth–moon (center-to-center) distance is 3.82 × 10^8 m, earth's radius is 6.37 × 10^6 m, moon's mass is 7.36 × 10^22 kg, and earth's mass is 5.98 × 10^24 kg.

Adiver named jacques observes a bubble of air rising from the bottom of a lake (where the absolute pressure is 3.50 atm) to the surface (where the pressure is 1.00 atm). the temperature at the bottom is 4.00 ∘c, and the temperature at the surface is 23.0 ∘c.what is the ratio of the volume of the bubble as it reaches the surface (vs) to its volume at the bottom (vb)? if jaques were to hold his breath the air in his lungs would be kept at a constant temperature. would it be safe for jacques to hold his breath while ascending from the bottom of the lake to the surface?
