A stone of mass 3 kg is sliding across a frozen pond at a speed of 10 m/s when it collides head on with a lump of clay of mass 7 kg. The stone sticks to the clay and the two slide on together across the ice in
the same direction as before. Calculate the following
(assume that there is no friction from the ice);
a The momentum of the stone before
the collision.

b The total momentum of the stone and
clay after the collision.

c The total mass of the stone and clay.

d The speed of the stone and clay after
the collision.
