In a hydroelectric plant, falling water exerts a torque on a water wheel, causing it to spin. The water wheel's shaft is attached to a conductive loop of wire suspended inside an external magnetic field, which rotates with the water wheel (see the image attached). Unlike the one-direction direct currents (DC), the electric currents generated by the spinning water wheel will be an alternating (AC) current that periodically reverses direction.
Citing any relevant physical laws, explain (in detail) how the hydroelectric plant generates electricity and why the current will cycle through two opposing directions
