Topic: Conservation of energy Scenario:

During lunch break at school Bethany noticed that her rubber ball did not bounce
as high, as it normally would, when it landed on a paper towel. Bethany now
claims if more paper towels are added the rebound height of the ball should
decrease by a fixed ratio.
Plan and design an experiment which can be carried out to investigate Bethany's claim.
Your report should include:
1. A statement of the problem / observation /scenario
2. An hypothesis
3. The aim of the investigation
4. A complete list of the apparatus needed for the investigation
5. A list of the variables involved : manipulated ; responding; controlled
6. The procedure to be followed, including the measurements you will make and how these
will be donc.
7. Data collection and manipulation :
I (1) a table or listing of data to be collected
(11) how the data will be manipulated
(ii) the basis for reaching a conclusion
8. Assumptions / Possible source of errors / Precautions
