A small stationary sphere carries a net charge Q. You perform the following experiment to measure Q: From a large distance you fire a smalltest particle of mass 4.00 ×10−4kg and a charge of q = 5.00 ×10−7C directly at the center of the sphere. The sphere’s mass is much greater than the mass of the test projectile, so you assume it remains at rest. The apparatus you are using measures the test particle’s speed vas a function of the distance xfrom the center of the large sphere. All the measured values of x are much larger than the radius of either object, so you treat bothas point particles. The straight line= 400 /–{(15.75/)/x}gives a good fit to the data points.(a)Explain why the graph is a straight line(b)What is the initial speed of the test particle when it is very far from the larger sphere(c)What is Q ?(d)How close does the test particle get to the sphere ?

Two thin 80.0- cm rods are oriented at right angles to each other. each rod has one end at the origin of the coordinates, and one of them extends along the x- axis while the other extends along the yaxis. the rod along the x- axis carries a charge of - 15.0 μ c distributed uniformly along its length, and the other rod carries 15.0 μ c uniformly over its length. find the magnitude and direction of the net electrical force that these two rods exert on an electron located at the point (40.0 cm, 40.0 cm).
