onsider a room with a slightly open window. A heater is turned on, raising the temperature of the air in the room. Since the room is open to the atmosphere, the pressure is constant. Take the air to be a calorically perfect ideal gas, so the specific energy can simply be written as u = cvT , where T is the absolute temperaturein the room. With these assumptions, how does the total energy in the room, U, change as the temperature is increased? What happens to the energy input by the heater into the room? A simple explanation is sufficient - no need to derive ananalytical result.
