In a room painted entirely black, the only illumination comes from three lights shining down on a pure white ceramic tile. The lights
produce pure red, blue and green colors on
the surface, and are
arranged so the light beams overlap as shown below.
You are fortunate to have perfect color perception. You look
through a red, round, translucent piece of material that is a
perfect red filter. You see the original overlapping pattern. You
also see a circular area in the middle filtered through the
translucent material.
