A steel cable supports a lift that can carry a maximum load of 1600Kg and it moves with an acceleration (a). (Young modulus of steel (Y)=3x1011 N/m2. Proportional limit stress =2x1010N/m2). Determine whether the maximum tension in the cable occurs as the lift is ascending or descending. And if this maximum tensile force is 25 KN, determine the value of the acceleration (a)?
