The electric field lines should be drawn through the region between and the regions immediately above and below the electrodes. Use arrows along the electric field lines to show the direction of the electric field. Determine the magnitude of the electric field along the segment between the electrodes by using Equation 2-5 and the boundary conditions that the potential is either 0.0 V or 15.0 V at the negative or the positive electrode respectively. Find the average of the electric field values – this will be the average value of E that exists between the electrodes. Calculate the (sample) standard deviation, σ.
