A boat traveling at 4 m/s runs out of fuel, causing the engine to turn off. Because of the drag force Fd= bv with the water, the boat immediately starts to slow down. In this problem we do not know the value of b, but we do know that the speed of the boat has been reduced to 2 m/s exactly 5 seconds after the engine stopped. How far does the boat travel before it comes to a complete stop?
