A teenager runs fast towards a tire swing and jumps on the tire swing, causing it to swing upwards. The combined mass of the teenager and tire is 81 kg. A gust of wind blows on the tire while it swings, giving the tire an extra boost of energy. SYSTEM: Teenager plus tire swing plus earth. Initial State: both teen and tire already collided and moving at a speed of 2.9 m/s. Assume initial height is 0.3 m.

Final State: The tire swings upto it’s maximum height, upon which it’s speed becomes 0 m/s.

NOTES: The force of the wind does +143 J of work on the tire as it swings upwards. Use g=10 m/s^2 for calculations.
