There are three states of matter. They are the solid state, the liquid state, and the gas state.

If a substance is in the solid state, then you can make a brick out of it and carry it around without a box or a jar.

If the substance is in the liquid state, then you can pour it out of a glass and it will make a puddle.

If the substance is in the gas state, then you must keep it in a closed jar or it will drift away all over the place and be gone.

Distance^2= yellow line ^2 (see picture) = 30^2 + 49^2so distance = squareroot of (300^2 +49^2)i dont know if this is how to solve it, but i cnt think of another way
