Write a one-page essay that defines Consequentialism, critically analyzes the strengths and weakness of Consequentialism, and applies Consequentialism to a moral dilemma. Finally, a conclusion regarding Consequentialism should be stated and supported. An accurate understanding of Consequentialism should be demonstrated in the essay. Moral Dilemma: In 2012, an article was found by a journalist in Austria telling the story of a priest that saved the life of a young boy, who had fallen through the ice of a frozen lake. The priest was hailed as a hero and a moral person at the time. The boy he saved was named Adolf Hitler. Hitler went on to cause the deaths of millions of people through war and genocide. What would Consequentialism say about the Priest's action and why? What does Consequentialism say about this, why, and what weakness/strengths does it expose?
