This theory is in the form of a circular structure where value and motivation are inter-related. Some of the values are power and benevolence which are generally in conflict with each other. On the other hand security and conformity seems to be more compatible. Everyone has values that guide our lives, but it is difficult to know how we are getting motivated by its behavior. A person should be open to change, new ideas. One of the methods is stimulation in which we search for novelty. The other method is self-direction where we find themselves in choosing and exploring. Universalism includes an understanding of the welfare of people. Benevolence is the preservation and enhancement of the welfare of people. Self-enhancement includes three goals: Power, Hedonism, Achievement.
