The social responsibility of companies implies the obligations of the administration of a commercial company to protect the interests of society. Thus, according to this concept, the objective of managers to make business decisions is not simply to maximize profits or the value of shareholders, but also to serve and protect the interests of other members of a society such as workers, consumers and the community in general. For example, if a food company is about to start an ice cream business, it should evaluate the geographical distances to the local ice cream shops, so as not to harm their performance.
