According to this text, why is the axumite port of adulis significant?

The Axumite port of Adulis was significant because this was where people bought  and sold goods. Axum’s role was to be a marketplace open for all socially and culturally diverse people in the international commerce of the first century. Axum’s participation in long-distance trade was stimulated because they had more resources to expand to other civilizations .Axum had cultural and economic ties to the larger world in that there were many goods that were bought and sold from different civilizations.
