How will coastal restoration project in louisiana’s economy

Coastal land loss has significantly impacted the economy in Louisiana, in addition to taking a toll to the environment. Therefore, the state of Louisiana created a 50-year Coastal Master Plan.

This plan is meant to provide greater environmental and flood protection security to Louisiana communities, as well as new momentum to the economy. The benefits will be allocated to the areas of energy, chemicals, international trade, fisheries and national defence.

The program will support as many as 10,500 jobs a year. On top of jobs, coastal spending will provide up to $620 million in wages and $1.5 billion in annual output.
