This is the name given to the geological formation that stretches from east africa to the red sea and beyond into southwest asia.

In its western sector, we find some buckets that are sunken zones and crossed by rivers.

In the eastern part is the Rift Valley, which is a long, thin valley created by the moving apart of the continental plates, prevent in East Africa, stretching over 4,000 miles from Jordan in Southwest Asia to Mozambique in Southern Africa. It is flanked in some sectors by mountains and by most African volcanoes. Along the Rift Valley are located most of the great lakes of Africa such as Malawi, Tanganyika, Victoria or Rodolfo.
