Use blackade and privateer in a sentence that demonstrates it's meaning

Assuming you're referring to the American Revolutionary War, one such sentence would be this: "In order to try to limit the colonial economy, the British used blockades along the colonial ports, which led to privateers steeling goods". 

are there actual statements because if not my answer would be: that using the five senses the author can create a sense of worth in an object to appeal to the reader and create meaning.
