Research on socialization into prejudiced attitudes indicates that children tend to be free of prejudice until around the ages of 9 or 10 years old. there is a close correlation between the racial and ethnic attitudes of parents and those of their children. children and young adults who believe they can think for themselves are able to avoid taking on their parents racial or other prejudices. most people today are unaffected by parental prejudices since the media has become so important.
