When you go to a wedding and you (as a woman) go to the party or ceremony in a more "outstanding way" than the bride then, you look bad.

Event:

When in a "fancy" kind of party you attend it in a very informal way of clothing, like jeans or shorts of some sort-then, you look bad.

When in the school you have a class meeting or religious ceremony of some sort- then you show-up in a different (maybe just slightly) way than the rest of the other uniformed audience-then, you look bad.
