Psychologists, and criminologists have always noticed that high levels of empathy will lower risk of anti social or crime related behavior.

The development of empathy enables understanding other peoples circumstances and suffering. It is a key component of emotional intelligence.

Empathy is key for building healthy relationships among others, even if people is different and shares different attitued and values.

Usually delinquents have been found to have low or non existent empathy for the actions they commit against people. Serial killers show no signs of concerns and this seem to be backed up by cross cultural studies.

Other people who are least emphatic are neurotics, psychopaths.

It seems that according to studies there is an inverse relationship between empathy and agression towards the others.
