Many people believed that Christopher Columbus was the first person in America, but they are wrong. The earliest Americans were the Native Americans. Native Americans lived in tribes, and their cultures and villages consisted of Pueblo's, kivas, totems, tepees, matrilineal, and Iroquois League. Meanwhile, in West Africa, gold and salt were being traded.

Discovery of America by Columbus is a contested idea because America was already populated with Native Americans who developed American civilization long ago. Their houses were made of heavy clay and they were called as Pueblo's. They had separate rooms for meeting and other community gatherings called Kivas. Their religious beliefs were different than any other civilization, they believed in totems ( Objects with spiritual significance ). People of the lower middle class used to live in teepees.  The status of women was really significant in them as the kinship was followed by the female line.

Native Americans were famous for their trades in West Africa. Camel caravans from North Africa carried bars of salt as well as cloth, tobacco, and metal such as Gold to them. Europe was one of the trade partners too but the European economy was dramatically affected by the  shortage of workers after the transatlantic travel.
