What did the south do after the war?

After the war, farmers and land owners had to focus on rebuilding a new system of labor. In other words, reconstruction took place as farmers now had to pay people of color to do cotton work.  They also had to rebuild their infrastructure due to the amount of damage on their buildings from the war.
