the recent uprising in egypt to overthrow the 30-year reign of mubarak was not the result of the bush administration's call for democracy in the region. after all, other such american presidents have made similar appeals for years, and no change happened in the middle east. furthermore, the bush administration was not highly regarded by the people of egypt. lastly, the real concerns of the people of egypt are economic reform and political corruption.
