Ijust asking your opinion if you were a supreme court justice and someone has violated the stolen valor act (a act created so that people could not lie about recieving a medal of honor or purple heart or anything like that to uphold the real meaning of getting one)
here is your case
a man is in a town meeting about public safety and he stands up and says he has the right to make a statment about public saftey because he was in the military for 8 years and had recived a purple heart he had done neither when in court he was found guilty of the stolen valor act he said that they were violating his first ammendment rights or the freedom of speech because he said this as a lie about himself so it was not actually effecting anyone else
waht would your verdict be?
