The Constitution gives senators a major role in American foreign policy, that is that presidents nominate diplomats and negotiate treaties, but the Senate determines whether those nominees will serve or if those treaties will be ratified. And other responsibilities would be like based off of congressional duties: Investigating pressing national issues and supervising the executive and judicial branches.Things like that. So basically the Senate has certain responsibilities that the House of Representatives does not.
