Apsyc 101 student is participating in an attention study. they are asked to fixate on a cross in the middle of the screen and watch for a word to appear in place of the cross. when the word appears they are using attention to perceive it.

The attention is a cognitive and behavioral process that focuses on the discrete of the information.  

The attention is divided between overt and covert attention:

Overt attention:

It is the selective attention of the items and location by focusing eyes on the point of place and location. Overt attention is related to the focusing of eyes directly on the target. Overt eye revolve is quite common but there is a little bit different that is notices is controlled and reflexive attention.  

The reflexive attention movement is directed by the superior Colliculus of the mid-brain. These are fast and related to the sudden appearance of the stimulus.  

The controlled movement is commanded by the frontal lobe and these movements are slow and steady.
