The problem of pollution, therefore, concerns the quality of life of human settlements. The degradation in quality life is all about the pollution.

From the industrial revolution, pollution became a problem for humanity. Of course there were examples of pollution before, in some cases even famous (in the Roman Empire, for example). But the degree of pollution has greatly increased with industrialization and urbanization, and its scale is no longer local to become planetary.
