One of those stages of psycho social crises is stagnation, and it is a crisis that occurs when someone like Chris is no longer active in generative things. This is where ego personalities play an important role. If the power and energy are diverted from what we used to do to some new creative things, or the power and energy that we spent on generative things are  diverted to the things that we didn't do so much and wanted, then it is a positive outcome of the crisis. Thus, the positive outcome of the Chris stagnation crisis would be if he redirected his energy to the time he spend with his children, and it would be a successful end to this psycho social phase in his life and to preserve a healthy personality.
