Group think occurs when a group of people agree on implementing a plan which will not result to optimal success or any success. This unified premature decision may be driven by a certain agenda or because people don't want to argue,they want to maintain peace so they may end up saying yes to something that may not be fruitful.

The number of people may decide not to express their opinions or doubts for the sake of keeping the group intact and maintaining harmony.

For this reason people may try to ignore moral consequences that may result from that group non optimal decision.

The board members agree to Bill's idea probably because he is the owner of the company and they don't want to make a fussy about the situation and create controversy or conflict so to maintain harmony they choose to go along with his plan eventhough they see that it is likely to not bring any success within the company.
