The three systems of memory are Sensory register, short-term memory, long-term memory. The sensory memory duration is very less about 1/4 to 1/2 seconds. It's capacity is for all the sensory experiences i.e. larger capacity. Its sense specific type of encoding. The duration of the short term memory is 0-18 seconds, whereas its capacity is about 7+/-2 items and for encoding it is mainly through the auditory.  The long term memory duration is unlimited, whereas its capacity is also unlimited. Its encoding type is by visual or auditory.

it depends on which society you are referring to. many civilization performed rituals so the gods would with their growing season but the most well known is that of the aztecs. they would make sacrifices, usually animals, but sometimes humans as well.
