The term "strange situation" was created by Mary Ainsworth to refer to a series of experiments to test the concept of attachment from psychologist Bowlby.

The strange situation refers to an experiment in which researchers put the child and the mother in the same room, this room has toys and things for the infant to play with. Then, a stranger comes in and the mother leaves the room. The child is left alone with the stranger and then the mother comes back.  This experiment was made to see the reactions of the children to the mother leaving the room and then coming back.

One of the patterns of behaviors observed is the Resistant-insecure (or anxious) children. They showed a lot anxiety when the mother left the room and reacts in a distress way, but when the mother returned to the room, although the infant wanted proximity, he seemed angry at her mother for leaving, this led to rejection to his mother's attempts to make contact.

In this example, Baby X is in the strange situation, when his mother left the room, he responded with distress and then raged at her when she returned. We can see that he is showing anxiety at first not wanting her to be gone but then when she's back he's angry at her. Therefore, this classifies him as Resistant-insecure.

  basically, india is a spiritual country with orthodox traditions. for example the people of india believe in traditions set by their wise forefathers. arranged marriages, joint-family system, universal brotherhood, vegetarianism, celebrating festivals such as diwali, holi, eid, etc., are the salient features of our culture and traditions.

  another unique aspect about our country is ‘unity in diversity’. in spite of the multi-lingual, multi-religious, multi-traditional, multi-cultural society, people live peacefully together, respecting one another’s views, cultures, traditions, and differences. i am sure you would love to visit india soon, and have a first-hand experience of the multi-colored culture. give regards to uncle and aunt. do visit india with your family and experience our hospitality.
