Integrity vs despair is the last stage of Erick Erickson's stage. This stage occurs between mid of adulthood around the age of 60 s. At this stage, a person develops a sense of self-satisfaction or a sense of failure.

When a person gets satisfied with his past life he/she develops a sense of satisfaction. But if a person is not satisfied with his past life such as what he did in the past, what he achieved in life and all things that related to personal achievement in life. The person fills with regret, sadness, and depression.  

So here in the above context, Adele is on the last stage of Erick Erickson's stage where she develops a sense of self-satisfaction so she could not regret it when she passes. So she spends as much time with her grandchildren so they can remember her after her death.
