However since the first contact was made when Juan Ponce de Leon landed in La Florida in April 1513 follows by other explorer to the time of  Christopher Columbus, the population of the native keeps decreasing and decline in size due to their contact with the Europeans through epidemics brought by the Europeans, the various war waged against them for their lands and resources ,displacement from their land  and resources, slavery, voluntary migration to area not conducive to their living etc. All this leads to rapid decline in the population
