I'm not sure if all of this applies to you or not but I will share my experience to try and help.

I am half Mexican and it has affected my life dramatically. Although my race is caucasian, being half Mexican has hindered my chances at having an easy life. I am constantly teased and made fun of for my ethnicity. Considering all that is happening in America with the border thing I have been told multiple times to go back over the border or that this isn't my country even though I was born here and have never been to Mexico.  I do experience discrimination because of my ethnicity on a daily basis. But, i do feel because of my ethnicity i am able to better connect to people and understand them. When all my peers are talking about border control and how all the Hispanics should just come over legally or not at all, I feel very differently about it. I am not sure if it is how i was raised or my ethnicity but i understand why these people are coming to our country and why they do it the way they do. Anyway, i hope this helped even a little!

trade was the key for muslims economies to prosper. their commerce routes reached far places like malaysia and java in the 11th century.

another important factor for prosperity was that muslim states served as the middle point for european traders.

they used to travel by land but sailing the seas -the indian ocean- really increase the exportation of products.
