One of the most basic drive of every human is the desire to make impact. How then do we make impact if we don't give ourselves to the service of others. Showing of gratitude in a way is giving back to the society. In giving back to the society, the person is servicing others. Most successful people in our society have stated in their books and interviews that they derive pleasure in helping other. So helping people is a way of helping yourself. One popular adage says 'fragrance always stays on the hand that gives a rose'. In conclusion, one of the greatest example of such is Jesus, in the christian faith. This man never cared about a house, his car, or even his savings.
