What is a Dynasty?

A dynasty is a series of rulers from one family, usually in the context of a feudal or monarchical system.

People's Rights:

The rights and privileges of people in Ancient China varied per dynasty, as some where less harsh than others. However, the expected track is that the more privileged had better lifestyles, as a product of the power. It was pretty much the same as any typical monarchy, but China is know for having particularly cruel leaders.

2: The Qin dynasty came to prominence as the new imperial dynasty after conquering rival kingdoms. Qin Shi Huang was the first emperor of the dynasty and an absolute monarch. He was the one to unify China.

3: In 213 BCE, Qin Shi Huang (yes, the very same who unified China) ordered the burning of books and the burying of scholars. Some historians are skeptical when it comes to certain details of the story, but the general story is that the books were copied, hidden, and the originals burned. The Scholars were killed, not buried alive. All this was in order to strengthen the Qin governing philosophy of Legalism. Legalism is the idea of excessive adherence to the laws, meaning you had to follow the rule to the letter or else.
