In other words, they both had 'the fight against communism background' in common, and were both born during the cold war. The domino theory was a US political theory that states that the rise of communism in a country in a particular region will triggers a series of follow up communism in other nations around the region in a domino effect. This theory was used by the US to justify its military interventions around the world during the cold war.
