Elaboration likelihood model of persuasion is a model that is uses the  dual process theory in explaining the  different change of attitude of individuals.. it gives us an edge to state how attitudes are shaped, how they are formed and also how they are reinforced.  the ELM has two route which are the central route processing and the peripheral route process.

In the peripheral route processes, users do not really check the success, efficacy or effectiveness of the message and sometime do no really pay close attention,. example of individual who has its route are those who know the name of item they want to bu but nothing about the item specification.
