You've now seen political leaders in action in three different small-scale, politically uncentralized societies: ≠Toma (leader, Zhu/wasi, foraging band society) M'aowa (Village Headman, Yanomamo, tribal horticulturists) Ongka (Big Man, Kawelka, tribal horticulturists). Drawing on the videos and the Power Points, compare and contrast these three leaders: a) modus operandi for getting people to follow—what did each do to be successful, given his particular leadership context?; b) anything else you might have picked up on while viewing any of the videos. Briefly, what' would you define as the major contrast between them and, say, a President of the United States?
