Subjugation and American Ideal of opportunity was in strain during the composition of the assertion of Independence for some reasons. For instance, America was simply turning into it's own nation, they were pronouncing autonomy from Britain. Presently they are all alone and not leveled out of Britain, they needed to settle on certain choices on opportunity and subjugation. They accepted that all men should be free...but simultaneously had faith in Slavery. That is the reason there was pressure.
