In 1932,  Joseph Stalin ordered farm collectivization to be created in Ukraine. The collectivization forced the farmers to follow the direct order from the central government regarding what to plants and how the price/income should be regulated.

It ended in Disaster.

The central government ended up taking the vast majority of income that generated by the farmers while giving little to no share for the people who work in the farm. This changed Ukraine from one of the most productive agriculture in Soviet Union into a country where people had little to no food to survive on.
